Some downsides to the program are that it doesn't provide instant message protection, P2P/file sharing protection or registry startup protection. Check out the Gold product if you're looking for these features.
ReplyDeleteMcafee VirusScan plus gives you antivirus, antispyware and firewall coverage for a fairly decent (39.99 USD) price which was perfect for me being an average pc user. McAfee VirusScan Plus's real-time protection is very swift at blocking viruses and took just under an hour to do a full scan. The antispyware mechanism didn't seem to pick up very much other than tracking cookies and a couple of more serious spywares. The firewall seems to work quite well and I did not experience any connectivity problems while it was on. McAfee's products are known for hogging system resources, but I can't actually say I noticed much of that moreso than any other antivirus program I've used before. ReplyDeleteFor me it is important to use a trusted and well-known brand and I have been using McAfee for years - customer for life! McAfee VirusScan is so easy to use and I feel like my virus protection is always up to date.
ReplyDeleteLoaded it and computer crashed with Vista and had to reload compter! Took almost 7 hours to reload computer!
ReplyDeleteThis program works great on my desktop computer and my laptop. It makes me feel much more secure about my network and computer information. I did notice a slowdown in my general utilities after installing the McAfee software. It was not as drastic as other programs but enough for me to notice. I do not plan on changing services, though, since I am otherwise happy with the effectiveness.
ReplyDeleteAfter my run in problems with Norton anti virus, I was able to stumble upon another company called McAfee anti virus. This product works wonders, ever since I used this product I was able to get less freeze ups as well as less viruses as this software has more scanning capability. I am pleased with this software so much, that I ordered all of my family members to have this product and they are satisfied as well.
