Verdict: Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 gets a lot of things right. Given its price, though, it's not hard to see many users balking at the product. Eighty dollars for three computers is steep, but there's no doubt that its tools are robust and comprehensive while the security it offers is more effective than most. As in previous years, Kaspersky is recommended for both basic consumers and power users alike.

Pros: Tough, intelligent, automated firewall actively blocks exploits. Praised by independent antivirus labs. Sandbox protects system files and sensitive surfing. Comprehensive parental control system. Minimal system performance.
Cons: Didn't reach expectations in my malware-removal tests. Antispam allowed many spam messages into Inbox. Performed poorly in antiphishing tests.
Bottom Line: This suite's firewall is smart enough to do its job without hassling you, its parental control tops almost all the competition, and it offers some unusual and useful bonus tools. Its performance in my anti-malware tests didn't come up to the glowing ratings from independent labs, though.

Verdict: Not for everyone, but an effective and very powerful package for the more technical user

While modern browsers have adapted to the problems of pop-up advertisements, intrusive javascript, and potentially malicious websites, they still fall short in blocking viruses, trojans, and adware scripts. Kaspersky Internet Security patches these holes, allowing internet users to browse and download without fear of infecting their computer. With built-in file detection, a wide array of security options, and toll free phone support, you can be sure your PC is safe, no matter when you're browsing.

Well, giving 2011 a trial, I concluded to downgrade back to 2010. Now my resources are back to normal usage and lag in the beginning of booting into win7 is nonexistent.
I may give it another try later on, however 2010 seems a bit overall more robust. To people who may think my system specs are at fault, i have to say that it's quite the contrary. I have over 5gb ddr2, dual core 16mb cache, 1tb, etc ,etc. System is not at fault, the new release has some flaws that need to be addressed. Along with false positives involves rootshells.

Startup takes way longer than most antivirus software, scans take forever the first few times, and uses more resources than KIS 2010.

The Kaspersky Internet Protection on my computer is the only one we have ever installed. This name is second only to Cisco, unless you own your own servers ! The technical support for the Kaspersky is offered on such a personal level of privacy that it has become extreemly important to me. If at anytime I need advice, tech support, or a question, the call is answered right here in the US. The tech support connect member for me, is the same everytime I need help. I just hit "Reply" at the bottom of the last email, and he sees everything we ever talked about, so no need for me to repeat anything. There is also a US number to call and speak directly to a tech support representative.I just put a gmail label on the first response they sent, and send every email beck to that label. On the lighter side, my loving genius big brother, who had McCaffy,(sp)was bragging about not having to "pay that much" for internet protection, and didn't think I should eithor...well, that was the week before McCaffy crashed, and now he has Kaspersky !!! Sometimes you just gotta love being right over your big brother !!!
