BD AV 2010 has not disappointed me yet, but I don't expect it to be a longlasting solution - no antivirus software ever is. It works for now, and it's fairly inexpensive. If you want some added features like parental control or PC backup, then you might want to consider the BD Total Security which is pretty much the mamma-jamma package.

When it has came down to computer safety, we honestly need much more of it than we honestly ever know. With a new anti-virus program called Bitdefender, it is honestly a very easy to program and setup from start to finish. But when it has came down to it, there are a few problems with it. It honestly doesn't work as well with Windows XP, as it is tuned more strongly with Vista or the upcoming Windows 7. The only gripe is if you have Windows XP in your computer, you honestly would need to upgrade your computer memory and speed because it would honestly work much better with the anti-virus program. Otherwise, you'd be much better off with other getting another brand like CA or Norton, because it would work much better with that version. It does however handle well with Netbooks, just as much as regular everyday computers too, if you're planning on buying one. Still, Bitdefender Anti-Virus 2010 isn't a bad software that helps you protect your computer, but it could've had more than meets the eye.

I would recommend this product to other consumers who are looking for a get-away from Norton, or Mcafee. What it all comes down to in the end is $. Does this product do for you what the others do? Will it put a dent in your pocket like its competitors? Probably not. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Not to mention, you can install this software on 3 PCs without purchasing another license. That is a plus for users who have family members connected to the home based WiFi.

  4. I've been using Spyware Doctor for about a year now, but it seems to be missing the 'important' malware programs (it won't find the main program that downloads the malware onto your computer in the background, but it'll find the programs it downloads). Bitdefender seems to be a step ahead with the definitions, having found a few small programs that Spyware Doctor didn't, but in addition, it found the main program that was causing all my problems. It also does a better job of stopping programs mid-attack (another fault of Spyware Doctor).
The downside is there's a very noticeable lag on the system when running. Much more then any other program I've used in the last few years. As a result, I have to keep it shut down and use it for manual scans only. This is where Spyware Doctor seems to have it beat.
