Symantec’s Norton 360 Version 3.0 provides reliable, industry-leading protection for everything computer users care about.
ReplyDeleteNorton 360 is arguably the best-known software security suite in the world, but that doesn't necessarily make it the best. However, in this latest version Symantec responds aggressively to user complaints concerning resource-hogging while including improvements in botnet detection, warnings for suspicious online retailers, and virus-definition file updates pushed every 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteThe suite includes antivirus, antispyware, antiphishing, antispam, antirootkit protection, a firewall, Symantec's SONAR (Symantec Online Network for Advance Response) behavioral-monitoring software, and a vulnerability assessment tool to see what Windows updates your computer might be missing. It also rolls in 2GB of free online storage for backing up your most important files, which can be upgraded for a price. The resources manager lets you streamline your boot cycle to start faster when the computer's off. The new install time is blazingly fast, and should clock in for most users at under or around one minute.
The interface overhaul is much easier to manage, with horizontal navigation and clearly delineated categories. Advanced options are available from two text links on the top nav, Tasks and Settings. From here, users familiar with Norton 360 will find more choices than ever before to customize and tweak protection behavior. In many ways, this version of Norton 360 has finally caught up with the times. Although it may pain the cynics to hear this, Norton 360's revamped approach to security and ease of use and its emphasis on speed make the program worthy of consideration again.
I think that Norton 360 is a smokingly good deal for those looking for total PC protection. The $80 price tag is minimal since it combines all the programs that would have normally been sold seperatly for hundreds of dollars. The price includes a one-year subscription for up to 3 PC's.
ReplyDeleteI mainly use a laptop so CPU efficiency is important to me, from what I can see the Norton 360 runs on 25,000 K which is about the same as an internet browser. So far I love it and would recommend it to anyone.
In the Anti Virus software category, Norton is a brand. I 'll try to buy it & get it installed in my laptop.
ReplyDeleteInstallation complex. Storage space be exploited too much (nearly 512MB). CPU operating at 100% until you reboot the system (reset). However, because Norton 360 is software and compatible to Windows Vista rather than XP. Therefore, the configuration memory is compatible with Vista right from 1GB up the "language" resources of Norton 360 is acceptable.
ReplyDeleteThis software is working great with my new Vista desktop PC.
ReplyDeleteNo need for additional software!I like the fact that the user does not need additional software for other security problems. For example, I did not have to install another program to detect spyware and other security risks. It was easy to install and is extremely easy o operate. In fact, the user just has to set it up to do all the tasks and it will run in the background. The program lets me know when I need to back-up my computer. I have never backed-up my work this way before and I feel more secure with doing it this way.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting update to the Symantec product line. Norton 360 far exceeded my expectations for this new brand. As an avid computer enthusiast Symantec products were far from welcomed on any of the day to day computers I used. Norton Anti virus no matter how effective completely drags even the finest computer hardware to the sub par performance level, plundering system resources, rooting itself deep within the foundation, and best of all you paid for this privilege. However, with Norton 360 the Symantec security is brought without the excess baggage. In fact you almost wonder if it is even working. The only true draw back is the fumble add on pack of parental control and email spam removal.
ReplyDeleteNorton 360 provides comprehensive security protection for up to three different computers. That protection includes website authentication (to ensure the websites I visit are legit) and a disk cleanup/defragmentation utlitity that runs much more efficiently than what comes with Windows XP Home Edition on my machine. Norton 360 is also easy to set up and manage. The only problem I had with the software occurred when I tried to run LiveUpdate. Even that was readily fixed with a patch. For people like me who have more than one computer, Norton 360 is a must-have.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has used Norton Internet Suite for the past six years, I was looking for something that didn't take so much background memory during start-up and operation. Symantec's new entry to the internet security race, Norton 360, has passed that test. This program starts up quickly at log on and continues to run quietly in the background. It has all the features that have made Norton one of the most trusted names in internet security, but improved. I highly recommend this next generation of security from Norton.
ReplyDeleteNorton 360 is a comprehensive security suite, defending against many online security threats. It safeguards identity, automatic backup and restore, PC tune-up, and diagnoses common problems that can slow down your computer. Norton 360 was easy to install, and ran in the background without any intrusions. As always, Norton's interface is appealing and user friendly.
ReplyDeleteMost of the features like PC tune-up and PC backups are things that can be done without the software, using what Windows already comes with. Windows has Disk Defragmenter, Disk Cleanup, and Backup which takes care of old unnecessary files, including Internet tracks and temporary Internet files. Unfortunately, when I loaded my AVG anti-spyware, it caught several security threats, when Norton 360 did not. Also, the online security feature is elementary. The letter "s", in "HTTP:" in your Internet browser address, stands for secure. Norton only looks at the letter "s" to tell if it's secure, but we can do that without the software. Also, there is not a secure place to store passwords or credit card information.Overall, Norton 360 is a great tool to have, but there is better software on the market, that cost less, and performs better.
